The Ecovillage Design Cards are at the heart of the Global Ecovillage Network and allow you to identify and playfully design your unique contribution to a regenerative future in all areas – social, cultural, ecological, and economic, within a Whole System Design framework.

They make up a tool for play, reflection, dialogue, learning, research, and design – applicable for individuals, groups, projects, organisations, and communities.

The Designing Regenerative Communities workshop (now available “self-paced”) is dedicated to learning more about how ecovillages are using the Ecovillage Principles and how you can integrate it into your life. You can access the first session as a recording and taster on our Facebook page.

GEN has gathered abundant feedback through many years of experience from working with the cards in 35 countries on all continents. This journey of experimenting and co-creating with the Ecovillage Principles is now distilled into 32 upgraded and finetuned Ecovillage Design Cards that you can discover here in a virtual presentation on the Map of Regeneration.

As a bonus, the Ecovillage Design Cards are now available with additional links to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for each Ecovillage Principle as a guide to achieving these goals.

Each Ecovillage Design Card is composed of the Ecovillage Principle, the corresponding SDGs, and questions of the Ecovillage Impact Assessment Tool – an online tool for mapping ecovillage practices. We will share the Ecovillage Impact Assessment Tool on our website soon.

Furthermore, we are excited to offer the upgraded 32 Ecovillage Design Cards and their Instruction Booklet in 10 different languages and with a 10% discount for all ambassadors and participants of the upcoming courses on our new Online Learning Platform.

Much appreciation for all the volunteers of our network who helped us with the translation of the New Edition to make them available in various languages!

If you are interested in volunteering with us you can find more information here.

Check out our Online Store for the New Edition of the Ecovillage Design Cards in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, German, Japanese, Mandarin, Arabic, Italian, and Greek.
