Julian Lauzzana

Owner and Manager Julian Lauzzana is a father, chef, teacher, media producer, community organizer, events coordinator and steward of the land. Julian lives at Earthen Heart with his partner Palma and five children in the main house. Julian has worked in the media since 1992 and has eight years experience as a professional chef. Currently he is focusing on building the value added food line with products like garlic powder, fruit leather and fruit juices. The vast majority of food is consumed at the homestead with some items being sold under the Cottage Food Laws of Michigan and various entrepreneurial undertakings begun.

Geographically speaking, Earthen Heart is a 20 acre homestead in Bangor, Michigan, USA. Located within the fruit belt and the heart of blueberry country with mostly a sandy loam soil, near many small lakes and 10 minutes from the Great Lake Michigan. This is an end of Winter transitioning into beginning of Spring event. It is not reliant on specific Gregorian Calendar and Mechanical Clock time coordinates but will mostly occur between the Chinese New Year and the Spring Equinox.
