Futures strategist and diplomatist engaged in international security and human rights research, intercontinental community building, and ecovillage development. Based near Findhorn, she bridges grassroots initiatives and global dialogues. Currently serving as Senior Research Fellow (EIPRHR), Community Builder (Volt Europa), and an active member of BISA and WILPF Scotland.

Josephine Schwab is a futures strategist working at the intersection of diplomacy, community-led development, and long-term resilience. She is an incoming Senior Research Fellow with the European Institute of Policy Research and Human Rights, a community builder for pan-European project Volt Europa, letter writer for WILPF Scotland, and a reviewer for the Journal of Deliberative Democracy.

Her work builds on more than a decade of involvement in the ecovillage movement, where she has supported research, education, governance, and humanitarian projects, and is now based near the Findhorn ecovillage in Scotland.

Josephine is pursuing a Master’s in Global Diplomacy, alongside development in UN peacekeeping and "Macroeconomics for a Sustainable Planet". She brings a futures perspective to global dialogues on conflict transformation, reconciliation, and resilience, while rooted in grassroots approaches to peacebuilding and regenerative development.

Primary interests: Futures thinking, peacebuilding, ecovillage development, conflict transformation, participatory governance, European security.
