In today’s world, we are invited to embrace a new way of being—a way that calls for resilience, adaptation, and regeneration. These principles are not just abstract concepts but are becoming the foundation for a paradigm shift toward collective well-being and the honoring of life itself. At the forefront of this movement is the ongoing work of CASA Latina, the Latin American arm of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN).
Regenerative Communication Training: A Space for Collective Learning
At the heart of this transformation is the Regenerative Communication Training—a space designed to strengthen the collaborative fabric within communities and ecosystems. This initiative focuses on both internal and external communication strategies, with an emphasis on promoting sustainability and restoring vital connections to life on Earth. By adopting digital and interpersonal approaches, this training serves as a crucial tool for driving positive, regenerative change.
Second Peace Summit in Bacalar: A Step Toward Global Regeneration
From November 20 to 24, Bacalar will host the Second Peace Summit, a landmark event with the mission of declaring the Bacalar Lagoon a “Sanctuary of Life and Peace.” The summit will bring together international delegations, community leaders, and environmental advocates to focus on the Rights of Mother Earth and long-term ecological regeneration. The summit will:

GEN and CASA at COP16: Scaling Up Ecovillage Models for Global Impact
CASA Latina continues to drive global recognition for sustainable settlements through its partnership with GEN at COP 16 and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). GEN’s inclusion as an accredited organization brings ecovillages into the global spotlight as models for biocultural conservation. This integrative approach links environmental protection with the regeneration of local cultures, offering a holistic response to the world’s most pressing challenges.
CASA is also advancing the Ecovillage Development Programme, a strategic initiative to scale up ecovillage solutions through regenerative training and local empowerment. This program empowers communities with the tools and knowledge to create sustainable and resilient models that can be adapted across different contexts.

CASA Latina’s Research & Education Circle Paves the Way for Regenerative Solutions
CASA Latina’s Education and Research Circle has made great progress in 2024, integrating education with research to foster a culture of learning and action. This year, the circle has launched innovative projects like C-Ecosistémica, a research hub dedicated to biocultural data gathering and academic outreach. Their participation in international forums, like the GEN Europe Gathering, further emphasizes the growing importance of ecovillages as vital tools for addressing global environmental challenges.
In collaboration with regenerative communities, CASA is not only promoting sustainability but also documenting and scaling up these efforts through its expanding network. This work culminates in the ECCO Congress, an upcoming event where CASA will continue to push the boundaries of academic and ecological collaboration.
