The Centre for Transition (CT) is based in Australia and was created out of a strategy planning session of Transition Towns Tasmania in late 2011. The vision for the CT was reinforced at Findhorn Ecovillage in Scotland. Founder and CEO, Andrew Olivier, is also an Ambassador for GEN Australasia.
CT will play a key role in helping GEN to get up and going in Australia.
The CT plans to operate across Australia and will be a reference point to find out about workshops and intentional communities as well as working with GEN Australia to sway decision makers towards more resilient communities and urban reformation.
You may visit our website at http://centrefortransition.org/ and on Facebook.
CT is offering three workshops at present – in Tasmania, Victoria and NSW.
They are:
* On Death and Dying – The Final Transition
* The Transformation Game – for those at the crossroads of decisions
* An Introduction to Ecovillage Design Education – a live-in workshop for those who are building sustainable projects. This will be delivered in conjunction with GEN and GAIA and we have John Tallbot and Samanatha Graham as well as Shane Schmidt as facilitators.
* Transition Economics – the magic of the “and”
The primary purpose of the Centre for Transition is to promote practices that result in a sustainable environment and healthy living.
We promote the exchange of ideas, innovations and solutions, facilitating and working in partnerships to achieve our primary purpose. We also conduct experiential programmes, educational courses, workshops, tours, seminars and study groups.
Our objectives are achieved through alliances and partnerships. Our offerings will be a mixture of online learning and physical workshops offered in special places and communities across Australia and New Zealand.
