Seeking Director for “LEARN@EcoVillage”
We seek a Director who will provide visionary and creative leadership for LEARN@EcoVillage, (LEARN), the educational outreach arm of EcoVillage Ithaca, (EVI) www.ecovillageithaca.org. One of the most well-known ecovillages in the world, EVI serves as an inspiring campus for learning about sustainable lifestyles. LEARN currently offers a spectrum of tours, workshops, internships, and a gap year program. It collaboratively offers accredited courses for professionals, including planners, architects, and green builders. It draws from the four diverse organic farms at EVI, the intergenerational community of over 230 people, and the cutting-edge green buildings. LEARN works with independent as well as national and international media who seek to showcase positive solutions.
LEARN is a project of the non-profit Center for Transformative Action (CTA).
Qualifications
The Director will have demonstrated ability to provide strategic and visionary leadership as both an entrepreneur and a team-builder. Candidates should have 3-5 years or more of leadership experience, preferably in a non-profit or educational environment. The director must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written; proven fundraising ability; broad knowledge of sustainability practices; ability to manage an organizational budget; ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of organizations and individuals; and ability to inspire and manage teams of volunteers.
Salary and Benefits
The current hourly, non-exempt position is 19 hours/week at $25 per hour, with the possibility of an increase up to full-time, depending on available funding. Benefits include two weeks paid vacation per year (rising to 6 weeks over time). If position increases in hours, health benefits will also be included.
