Kavitha Urvasie Selvaraj

A third generation Aurovilian, I am Indian/Dutch by nationality. I studied Sustainable Development in the Netherlands. I have since then worked for the Auroville's Entry Service, the New Era Secondary School, and Pitchandikulam Forest's project ‘Sustainable Enterprise Development in the Auroville BioRegion’.

I am currently working as a YouthLink coodinator to engage youth in all aspects of our community. I am also a part of the GEN desk at Auroville that is eager to connect Auroville more deeply to GEN & Gaia Education. As Auroville nears its 50th anniversary in 2018, real shifts have taken place. There is an energy that is gaining momentum towards supporting youth in taking central roles in Auroville’s development in the next coming decades – just as our parents and grandparents have done so successfully as pioneers. I believe that it is time Auroville reaches out to other Intentional Communities worldwide, and as a GEN ambassador I look forward to helping connect the many interested Aurovilian and local youth to GEN and Gaia Education in the near future.

Primary interests: Social; Culture; Integral Design; Ecology; Economy
