Belentepe Permaculture Farm is an intentional ecological-project based in Beykoz, Istanbul — rooted in permaculture ethics, soil regeneration, and community resilience. Our aim is to create a living demonstration of sustainable land stewardship by transforming mixed organic waste into fertile humus, revitalizing degraded forest-edge land, and establishing diverse food forests, vegetable gardens, orchards, and native woodland patches.
We integrate ecological restoration, regenerative agriculture, and community education: we engage volunteers and local residents in composting, humus production, soil improvement, agroecological gardening, and participatory design. We envision Belentepe not just as a farm, but as a learning center — offering workshops, hands-on training and community-building around urban–rural permaculture, self-sufficiency, and ecological design tools (including digital planning via EcoDesign App).
Our long-term goal is to grow a resilient, biodiverse ecosystem, foster ecological awareness among neighbouring communities, and provide a model for sustainable land use in peri-urban Turkey.
