The Tapovan Project is envisioned as ecologically driven communities that evolve in consciousness at every level, whilst living in harmonious co-existence with all of Nature. These model communities will be based on the principles of spirituality, sustainability and environment. They will promote research and education in these areas in the interests of reuniting ancient teachings with modern technology, whilst seeking to preserve and expand indigenous knowledge. Living close to nature will encourage greater self-sufficiency and conservation.
The Tapovan Project seeks to bring us, humankind, back to healthy, harmonious and sustainable relationships with all of life. It promotes research, education and experiential exploration of these areas, and seeks to unite indigenous wisdom and practices with modern technology.
Our Mission is based on our guiding principles, respect for our co-existence in one Source, and our interdependence with all of life.
The name Tapovan is derived from two Sanskrit words: tapo (spiritual practices) and vana (forest), indicating our goal of spiritual development within nature. We are developing Tapovan TT on lands in Brasso Venado, in the fertile Montserrat Hills of central Trinidad, at the heart of Trinidad.
Purchased during the auspicious period of the 40 Days of 2009 and 2012, our Tapovan lands comprise just over 51 acres of tropical rainforest, and a former cocoa, coffee and citrus plantation. The forest is home to abundant wildlife and plant species, whilst majestic trees and spring-fed streams traverse the property. Whilst we hope to expand the Tapovan TT acreage in the future, our priority is to maximize the potential of the existing land, in line with our Project Vision
