Buntong Bukid is an intentional eco-village nestled in the highlands of Bukidnon, Philippines. It is designed as a national prototype for regenerative development — integrating permaculture design, forest regeneration, off-grid infrastructure, and community wealth-sharing.
The community brings together climate-conscious families, local staff, and visiting guests in a living system where nature, food, shelter, and care are interwoven. The 30-hectare site includes a 2-hectare food-producing farm, a 2.5-hectare rewilded forest zone, and bamboo-built housing units: 30 farm apartments, 24 duplex villas, and 9 treehouses. All structures are designed with renewable materials and closed-loop systems — including solar power, rainwater harvesting, compost toilets, and community biogas.
At the heart of the village is a circular economy framework. Residents may join a managed “Village Hosting Program” to welcome visitors, while local staff are offered training, housing, and benefits. Together, we aim to demonstrate a replicable model for climate resilience, food security, and ecological stewardship — aligned with all 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Buntong Bukid is currently in the early build phase with core systems underway. We are targeting EDGE certification and are proud to be part of the GENOA network of ecovillages in the Oceania and Asia region.
