Earth Farm 9 is a Vegan Community & Homestead in Ecuador. We are “preppers.” We see the fragility of the supply chain and understand it can collapse at any time preventing the purchase of products. We observe climate change issues, and if we do not adapt as a species, they can lead to global famine. We are actively preparing for these scenarios. Our property has a river and a preferred climate to grow food year round. We don’t need to preserve foods or heat/cool our home. We are creating an easier life for all who live in community with us. Our largest goal is to share abundance with all beings so we may experience harmony together. Our lifestyle emphasizes simplicity and off-grid living but we do have electricity and cell phone/WiFi service. The land has about 2 acres of Fruit/Vegetable Producing Plants, Flowers & Herbs. There are parks and trails nearby. Our skies are great for stargazing! We fund the community with a mobile store that sells plants, rare seeds, fruits and seasonal items. We are able to install edible landscaping services. We want to open more physical centers where people are safe to experience authentic human enrichment. We live by “The 5 Agreements” which are VERY important to us. We expect guests to do the same: 1) Speak impeccably 2) Do your best 3) Take nothing personally 4) Make no assumptions 5) Listen and be skeptical. Tents with bedding and rooms in our adobe home are available. All members/overnight guests are expected to work 15 hrs/week to compensate for housing and meals. Common tasks are harvesting, processing, packaging, and planting. Work can vary seasonally. We have NO animals in captivity. Guests staying over 1 week will have a 7 day probationary phase – if you are not compatible with Earth Farm 9 you will be given constructive feedback or asked to leave as advised by WWOOF. We built 6 homesteads together since 2020 and love to share our knowledge/skills. Please email us your questions if Earth Farm 9 interests you!
