We hold a vision for a living-learning community that can help plant the seeds for a sustainable human society. We would like to gather a group of teachers, healers, artists, activists, & communitarians to develop this alternative society. We envision a “school of the human” where people can come to learn all the things they need to be truly human, and which they wouldn’t learn in school.
We see an intact village, where the teachers live together with their families and other loved ones, and where the public is invited in for instruction across a broad range. This learning would range from an afternoon class or weekend retreat, to multi-year immersion while living in the village itself. The curriculum could start simply, but would eventually cover all fundamental aspects of human life, which we’ve divided into six realms: sacred arts, social ecology arts, land ecology arts, nature connection arts, healing arts, and creative arts.
This school would not just be a place to learn information, but a chrysalis that allows people to fundamentally transform within it. As a school, it must be a blueprint for a new model of human learning; one that allows for learning at the mental level, as well as the emotional, physical, spiritual, and social levels. It will be a model for a new kind of village, in which both the needs of the group and the needs of the individual are held in equal regard.
We see the community itself as a living laboratory. Here we can experiment with new models of relating and governing. These include application of developed structures such as dynamic governance, restorative justice, and polyamory, as well as experimentation to hone those structures or find new expressions. This experimentation also extends to legal & financial arrangements around property & income sharing, as well as to green technology, permaculture, and homesteading techniques to live in harmony with the natural world.

At this point, we're only open to hearing from potential co-founders. We're in the process of building a collective vision, developing a structure, and seeking land. If you would like to help build this vision with us, please get in touch. We'd love to know about your previous experience either founding or living in community. If it's none, that may be ok -- we need a mix of experienced people and those with a fresh perspective. We would like to know whatever relevant experience you have, and what you feel you bring to the table.
We're specifically looking for stakeholders to hold down four of our learning aspects: land ecology arts, nature connection arts, healing arts, and creative arts. If you have a background in one of these areas, we'd love to talk to you. If not, but you still feel your experience and aptitude make you a good fit for the project, please do get in touch.
We don't have land or a location yet. We know we would like to be somewhere in the western half of the U.S. We also know we need significant acreage, with the ability to grow abundant food, and we would like to be within an hour of a major international airport. Right now, our focus is on building our core team, and letting the land call to us once we've coalesced around a vision.
Hello to all! My name is David Doughney, I AM 29 and am so keen on moving to a Self sustaining community, where I can be and grow around Like-Minded, Like-Hearted people. I have just moved out of an Ahmazing experience living out in Nature for over 3 months, close to 4. I AM a Great Leader and am FOR the people. I AM very spiritual and getting close to Enlightenment. I can guide and teach so many about spirituality, Self Love and Unconditional love for others. I can teach people about living and survival within Nature. I can uplift a whole community. I have the biggest heart so i love ALL so great, Most people i have met in life that have known me for who i am know and feel the love i give and the love i have is my highest Divine quality. I AM very funny and can make so many people laugh during tough or dark times. I inspire people, give hope and strength to people wen they need it. I AM very humble and such a peaceful loving Man.
I have only had one full-time job working for Super A-mart furniture store in the warehousing department. Though I AM extremely intelligent and very adaptable and very quick learning. I have had Gardening experience, i can hammer a nail to a piece of wood, not being sarcastic but I AM very teachable. I AM extraordinary with Animals and they ALL love me. They know my heart is pure and Beautyfull. I love and respect Mother Nature, and don’t find myself a fit for the Government ruled societies. I AM important as we all are though i find my importance to be with communities like this one where i can make my biggest impacts to help those like self who are on their spiritual journey.
I think so far outside the box with everything which is something people always look for in someone. My dream is to one day co-build up a Self Sustaining community. As this kind of living is the way to go. If the whole world and everyone was living this way, u know there would be much peace and love in the world, but that’s why people like Self are here to help these kind of Beautyfull communities grow, flourish, thrive, and spread far and wide so that more and more see the illusions they were living under and to see and feel a new type of living that they’ve not experienced before.
