We’re co-creating a small community of like-hearted people caring for nature and each other, on a forested hillside, beside the mighty Clarence River, as part of a traditional rural town, on the North Coast of NSW.
Situated in the Yamba hinterland, we are just 20 minutes’ drive to magnificent beaches and Yuraygir National Park. In Yaegl Country. Nestled in the forest, on the edge of Maclean township, we can walk or cycle for groceries or a coffee, a swim at the pool, or to the local market. Our land has plenty of open space, including a rainforest creek and a central common area with river views. We will all have solar power, possibly a microgrid, and can design and build our own sustainable houses. We are sharing this land with the local and visiting native creatures and consider it a wildlife sanctuary.
We are co-creating a small ecovillage using permaculture principles and design. Creating Change. A Nest. Home.
Our Mission. The ecological footprint of the typical Australian lifestyle is quite literally “costing the Earth” and stealing from our future generations.
At Jagera, we believe that we each need to “do our bit” to reduce resource use and our impacts on climate change, and that we can do this in a creative, collaborative, mutually supportive, socially just, and joyful way. We are co-creating a sustainable and regenerative lifestyle in symbiosis with each other and the natural systems of which we are part of. In a practical sense, we aim to develop and live on 11 eco-household lots, within a Community Title, with the impact of only 2 conventional households.
* 11 private lots for sale (well, there are only 8 lots available now!)
* 1 shared community lot including community buildings, gardens, orchards, and rainforest creek
* 1 km walk to the centre of town and the Clarence River, even closer to schools, playing fields and forest. Beside Foresthaven.

Hello,
I am a 62 year old woman, living in a van looking for land to rent or buy a small site to locate a Tiny House Vehicle one day. I love nature and the outdoors including gardening, creative practice and the love of animals. I would like to be included in one of your Open days to meet like minded people and let me know if this could be an option for me? I am based in Brunswick Heads at the moment so I am not far away. Look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards, Edith

Hi Edith, saw your comment 17/10/2021, on the Eco Village Network site where you said; “I am a 62 year old woman, living in a van looking for land to rent or buy a small site to locate a Tiny House Vehicle one day. I love nature and the outdoors including gardening, creative practice and the love of animals”. Are you still looking to find the right place to live?
I have basic accommodation for 4 small families looking to live and contribute to a sustainable permaculture lifestyle in regional New South Wales.
