Ruma EcoVillage: A Sustainable Haven in Myagdi, Nepal
Nestled in the serene hills of Myagdi, Nepal, Ruma EcoVillage is a thriving community dedicated to sustainable living, eco-tourism, and regenerative agriculture. Rooted in Nepal’s traditional rural lifestyle, our village aims to create a self-sufficient, environmentally conscious, and culturally rich community where people and nature coexist harmoniously.
Our Origins
Ruma EcoVillage was established to address rural depopulation, environmental challenges, and the need for sustainable development in mountain communities. As younger generations migrate to urban areas, traditional knowledge, farming practices, and local culture risk being lost. To preserve and revitalize the community, we provide opportunities for eco-conscious living, sustainable farming, and responsible tourism.
Our Principles & Purpose
At Ruma EcoVillage, we are guided by principles of sustainability, community empowerment, and environmental stewardship. Our key focus areas include:
✅ Regenerative Agriculture – Reviving traditional farming practices with organic methods, permaculture, and agroforestry.✅ Eco-Tourism & Cultural Exchange – Offering homestays, trekking experiences, and hands-on learning about Nepali village life.✅ Community Development – Providing education, skill-building, and sustainable livelihood opportunities for local residents.✅ Environmental Conservation – Implementing waste management, reforestation, and plastic pollution control initiatives.✅ Holistic Living & Wellness – Hosting yoga, meditation, and nature-immersion programs to promote well-being.
Our Vision
We aspire to create a model eco-village that demonstrates the power of sustainable living while preserving Nepal’s rich heritage. By fostering global collaboration and local engagement, Ruma EcoVillage aims to revitalize rural communities, protect natural resources, and inspire others to embrace a greener future. 🌱✨
