In our western civilised world we are educated to remain nestled within our comfort zones. We sacrifice an enormous part of our aliveness on the altar of so-called security. Because of this we don’t have access to the unlimited possibilities life offers us in every moment. Drilled and domesticated from childhood on, we have yet to experience our inherent power and potential. Gambia – A box expanding journey could be a personal step for you to make a radical change.
Are you ready to embark on a challenging adventure? Do you want to know, what you truly need to be alive, creative and connected to yourself and the world? Would you like to discover, who you really could be, beyond your habits and routines? You may find more possibilities than you ever imagined at the edges of your comfort zone.
By joining this journey, you embark consciously and in full self-responsibility to the edge of your well-
known and comfortable
world. You will discover a new self in a foreign environment, supported by a group of like-minded people. Due to the mixture of training and experiences taking place within a foreign culture, you have the opportunity to go through a deep transformation process, in a consciously and safely held space. We use the powerful and practical tools of Possibility Management with the intention to provide in every moment what is needed for every single participant as well as for the group as a whole to make the next evolutionary step.

Why Gambia?
Gambia is a small country in Western Africa – and to a lot of people it is completely unknown. Although it is small, it is the home of many different ethnic groups and people speak over 20 different languages, of which “Mandinka”, “Fulbe” and “Wolof” are the predominant ones. The official language is English, which is used nearly everywhere.
Gambia, like many African countries, experienced a long history of colonisation. Geographically
Gambia is completely surrounded by the neighbouring country Senegal, apart from the access to the Atlantic coast. The prevailing religion is the Islam.
In other words: Gambia offers a lot of possibilities to have box expanding experiences in a foreign culture.
In addition, it is home of wonderful Sandele Eco-Retreat, where we will stay and have our training sessions.
Sandele Eco-Retreat
Sandele Eco-Retreat http://www.sandele.com and Learning Centre is an example of responsible and sensitive tourism with a positive
effect on the village of Kartong. “Sandele” (pronounced San-day-le) is derived from two Mandinka words. “Sine” means “now” and “Dehli” means “be still”. Often when rocking her baby to sleep, a mother will whisper the words “Sineedehleh”, “Now be still”.
Lodges and the Guest Rooms have compost toilets and a constructed wetlands system that minimizes the use of, and purifies, the water flowing from the toilets, showers, hand basins and rainwater. Every step that its founders Geri Mitchell and Maurice Phillips from England did, was agreed with the local Village Development Committee.
The “Co” in E-co stands for “Community” with a commitment to hire at least 70% of staff from the
local village, purchase locally where possible and donate part of the proceeds from the room revenue to the Village Development Fund. Being member of the Global Ecovillage Network Sandele organized an Ecovillage Design Education course in 2014 with 32 participants, 24 of them from the village Kartong.
