We are celebrating the completion of our second Kincentric leadership retreat!
We welcome you to join us in sending the Kincentric Leadership team celebratory love showers after the completion of the second Kincentric Leadership retreat, in Devon, UK.
A powerful group of changemakers committed to leading from a deep sense of kinship with all life gathered from July 14th to July 20th at Sharpham House to explore sound, silence, and deep listening with the more-than-human world.
The group worked to create kincentric culture between themselves, learned about plant communication and bioacoustics, used their senses to imagine the lives and umwelts of other beings, did a dusk walk and one-day nature solo, spoke about decolonisation, grief and polycrisis, and learned from indigenous teachers.
It is exciting to deepen and explore this work of truly including the more than human world in all our activities and ways of being and to discover what emerges from it.
Thank you to our Guest Teachers!
To get a flavour of what was shared at the retreat, take a look at our guest teachers;
🌗 Sicelo Mbatha, Zulu author and wilderness guide from South Africa who guided us on a dusk walk and touched our hearts with his stories and ways of creating an atmosphere of deep quiet and peace, walking in nature, as nature.
🎙️Tiokasin Ghosthorse, speaker, master musician, radio host, Nobel Peace Prize nominee and elder from the Cheyenne River Lakota Nation (Sioux) of South Dakota with a long history of indigenous activism and advocacy, who spoke to us of the Lakota ways and language.
🌿Carbon neutral herbalist and alchemist Suzanna Thelwall who guided us into closer communication with the plant world.
👁️ Cambridge scientist, climate justice activist and founder of Climate in Colour Joycelyn Longdon, who told us about her boundary-breaking bioacoustics research with communities in Ghana.
