We at Project Abundance believe the answer to many of our global issues lie in building self-sufficient communities outside of the current global systems. Communities that grow their own food and medicines, bake their own bread, brew their own beer or press their own wine or cider. all this while harnessing your own electricity through renewable energy sources such solar, hydro, wind or biomass. All around the world people are making the decision to break away from the current economic cycle and go back to working with Mother Nature, rather than fighting her. Project Abundance aims to provide, teach and demonstrate ways of sustainable living based on construction and permaculture concepts and principles, tried and tested throughout generations and recently used worldwide through, Earthship, Zero Net Construction and Self-Sustainable projects. The aim is to utilise a variety of Free Energy sources, recycled materials in addition to Eco Farming techniques to provide an abundance of food, energy and other benefits, not only for the individuals involved, but also for the local community. Along with providing an easier life through sustaining and producing our basic living needs, we also aim to inpire a new way of thinking by spreading the Contributionism Philosophy (Ubuntu Movement) and some much needed community spirit.

Volunteers who realize the need to contribute towards a better world will meet to experience and discuss a range of sustainable development projects. Volunteers will learn about different aspects of sustainability from eco and organic permaculture/farming, eco friendly construction techniques and materials whilst gaining hands on experience and ideas to implement into their way of living and pass on the knowledge gained. In return for volunteers work, we will provide food and accommodation, including wifi, which we hope will encourage volunteers to share their experience and story throughout the project. We aim for this project to be a light hearted and fun experience whilst sharing the enthusiasm of being a valued part of creating and building a sustainable project across a spectrum of eco objectives.
One main aspects of this project will be to create material to spread ideas of a sustainable world to a wider audience. We aim to achieve this by gathering information and opinions of people involved using video clips to create a filmed documentary. This documentary will not only be created to inspire and teach others to adapt a more eco friendly way of living, but also unite its creators and like-minded individuals, and help strengthen their self belief.
Volunteers will be required to fund their own travel expenses but all accommodation and food expenses will be covered. There are limited beds available, which will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. In the case of all beds being reserved or if you choose to do so, there is also plenty of space for camping which will require tents and sleeping bags.
