Borgo Basino is a living, learning community connecting education, networking and wellness on a small multifunctional farm. We are a hub for agricultural innovation, community wellness, and sustainable hospitality. We Learn together as a folk school, Live together as an ecovillage, and Grow together as an organic farm and bed & breakfast. Our space is a rennovated 13th century “borgo” of stone buildings divided into independent apartments on 27 acres in the foothills of the Appenine mountains in the Emilia Romagna region, developed as an “agriturismo.” We generate 75kw of solar power, recycle rainwater and greywater through passive filtration and irrigation systems, with ongoing organic certification and a weather station for over 10 years. We are trained group facilitators, permaculture designers, and conflict mediators. We have supported grassroots community network building through projects like the Helping the Helpers Training, a trauma awareness program. We support our work through outside consulting in progressive causes, as well as increasing emphasis on transitioning hospitality and farm activities for financial sustainability of the community.

This looks like a simply fascinating project.
I am a humanitarian worker specialising in post disaster shelter and reconstruction, based out of Indonesia where my partner and I also run a small sustainable hospitality Eco-Bungalow and Wholefood Restaurant. Seems like a similar core philosophy.
I hope maybe we can visit someday
