Our first location is in North of the city of Nijmegen, the Netherlands, finished in March 2021. It is an urban ecovillage, The intention of our association is to build for and with people with the intention to contribute to the regeneration of the earth. Most of our members do not have (an easy) access to the Dutch housing market. We also target to people with an increased need for support.
We work on increase of sustainability, a strong community with care for each other and environs. The community centre is in the centre of the 46 circular houses and permaculture gardens. Young and old (from 0 to at present 82) will together be the community. The gardens are communal, with specific herbs and vergetable gardens and an orchard. The village has a childrens playground and a shared bicycle storage and crafts shed.
The association CVEG has the intention to build one or two more ecovillage in the province of Gelderland. We expect to start designing and building these villages within two years.
