Since 2013 a group of determined people from Israel, Jordan, Palestine, and Egypt, create together a warm relationship despite the governmental hostility between these countries.
We believe that peace is made between individuals, people, communities.
We, the local people, refuse to maintain hostility and wish to cross the cultural gaps by meeting and working together.
We all make our living on tourism, hosting people in our communities, hoping to create a new type of tourism: Based on personal meetings with people from the local communities, off the beaten track.
Our cross-border tours and programs share cultural knowledge and deep engagement between the participants and the guests from abroad.
We created Desert Matters, a communal network, that market and exhibit all the participants, inviting people from all over the world to share and celebrate with us the best of our regions, the way only local people experience it.
Far away from attractions, big commercial international hotels, our vision is to create people-to-people tourism, more of hosting, less of tourism.
One of our main goals is to strengthen these communities culturally and economically.
We believe that visitors from abroad elevate the cultural pride of the young generations, and encourages the old ones to tell their story.
We also wish to make a living together and strengthen the local economies.
We believe, that a sustainable cross-border partnership in this conflict zone needs economical products with proven income to survive.
Desert Matters is also a guarantee for our good neighborhood relationships!
Most important for us is to create responsible tourism, that contributes its profits to the local communities and minimizes its Ecological footprint.
We demand from all our participant services high responsibility and care for the environment, hoping to educate the local populations to respect the landscape and its flora and fauna as a precious resource that needs protection.
