Hi,

I’m Michael – I discovered the ecovillage world in 2018 – and have slowly been able to get into what I feel is the global ecovillage network. So far, I have only visited some communities in Europe, but I have more and more also learned to connect with people online, especially after the Ecovillage Conference in Italy in 2019. Since then I’m involved in the Baltic Ecovillage Board, and in a working group for the European network regarding “fundraising and events”.

As a traveller, I experienced difficulties managing all the different platforms where we can connect, from email, facebook, to instagram and websites. It was not easy to get an overview over the different villages, where they need volunteers, what projects are happening, so I was wishing all the time that there was an easier way to connect to the network and the community of people.

After a lot of research, talking also the IT-manger for GEN-Europe and feeling into what the global community might need, I decided to try out a platform called MightyNetworks. It’s a platform to build an online community, and for me it seemed like the perfect tool.

This project is about developing this online community – to engage with the ecovillage community – and to see if we can gather and share one platform for knowledge and communication. I also wish to open this community to the regeneration movement and other similar networks than the ecovillage community.
