Ma Da Ecovillage is an ongoing project to transform a community in Dong Nai province into a self-resilient, sustainable village for residents and the city’s freelancers and remote working professionals.
The project’s original location is a remote village between Tri An Lake and the Ma Da Nature Reserve. Its proximity to the city (~2 hours drive), freshwater body, and tropical jungle make it ideal for living. However, most residents are living below the poverty line, leaving it with many social and environmental issues.
Our project first started with an eco-farmstay cum educational project to provide free classes for local children. It quickly receives supports and attention of city people who visited and fell in love with this village. We are on the way to create a small community of professional who is deciding to relocate their family to the village, to enjoy the pristine atmosphere while still be able to maintain their jobs.
The project aims to provide:
– Connection between the professionals and residents;
– Quality sustainable housing and community management;
– Educational services (homeschooling) for children;
– Agriculture management for residents;

Hello Cuong,
Your project has all the qualities and values I am looking for in a shared living eco-community:
– It is important to me to live on land I can protect and have a cooperative connection with
– I dearly want to live simply and to be surrounded by people who are warm hearted and kind
– Nature is a main priority in my life and I always feel respectful and honored to be in nature.

Hello!
I’m a food sustainability consultant and climate resilience researcher currently travelling the world living with different communities across different cultures, practices and climate challenges, ultimately seeking to understand what resilience looks like at the community level for them (with a major interest in social-structures and food security!), with a goal of supporting more climate-resilient community creation.
I will be in Vietnam through March and April and wondered whether it would be possible to have a chat about me visiting you?
I work nomadically running my consultancy whilst travelling but have plenty of time to contribute as an active community member, too!
Hopefully speak soon,
Stephanie
