The Tribe Goa is an ecovillage located in the Western Ghats region in south-west India. Since 2016, The Tribe Collective has been pursuing the following objectives:
- Protect, safeguard and increase biodiversity – native nursery and seed bank, reforestation program, wild animal rescue service, and rehabilitation centre
- Take action for the preservation of local culture and shift towards responsible policies – ecotourism, craftsmanship, waste management, transmission of skills and knowledge
- Showcase alternative ways of life that include sustainable notions of habitat – traditional building methods, use of responsible materials.
Local Actions in the Cancon Region
Biodiversity – Wild Animals – Waste Management – Art – Architecture
To promote sustainable practices in agriculture, business and communities that contribute to the restoration of biodiversity in the Cancon region.
The structure’s aim is to bring together individuals, organisations, resources, and strategies to identify solutions to the main social and environmental problems facing the region.
Acting towards these objectives since the beginning, the Collective also set up a native plant nursery on site, a Wildlife Rescue service available 24h/7 all year and made concrete proposals to local authorities to address the inexistent management of waste in the region.
