Creating a Local Currency for use in Women's Co-operatives

Description of Challenge

The salary for women in the co-operatives is a monthly flat rate, and does not take into account the amount of hours worked or the nature of the work that has been done.

Creating a locally driven currency that takes into account the hours and the type of work done, i.e crushing, grinding etc.

Solution

The new system will be more transparent and can be directly exchanged for groceries, vegetables and meat at the local market. It can also be exchanged for money.
