Alejandro Musalem

Eco aldea Tierra de Niebla

A native Zapotec from Oaxaca, México. Agronomist with a Master on Agroforestry from CATIE. Alejandro has worked for a various organizations on issues related to environmental protection and food and farming, as well a small producer of various crops & cattle in his home town. He was the Country Director for Heifer International and currently lives in the Cloud Forest of Veracruz, with his wife and their son, where they grow coffee, fruits, staples and keep chickens.

We are 10 families living in an intencional community that started in 2005. We settled around an ecologically-run ranch (now co-op) know as Las Cañadas, near Huatusco in the mountains of Veracruz.

Primary interests: Culture (Wisdom & Innovation, Vision & Purpose); Integral Design (Contextualised Design); Ecology (Seeds, Food & Soil, Green Building); Economy (Social Entrepreneurship)
