Ecovillage Dyssekilde was founded in 1989 as part of the original old village Torup, in the municipality of Halsnaes (Denmark). Along the years we have created a kindergarten, school, 80 self-made sustainable houses, jobs, a common house, a music festival, a movement festival, an art group, a gallery, a market and more. In the name of sustainability and good neighborhood. Collaborating with the mainstream part of the village, the municipality, the national network of ecovillages and GEN.
Last september we celebrated our 30th birthday in a day of parade, music, storytelling, games, visits, fireplaces, feetwashing, dance, sharing, laughters and more. 3 days after Torup was named the Village of the Year 2019, in the name of Sustainability and Social Development. Good appreciation, maybe start of a new period, as we have not finished our work for the transition to a more balanced green world, together our local and global friends.
