Green Commune Eco village Belica

Association for Belica Community Development

Belica is a wonderful village located in the western part of North Macedonia. It has a rich biodiversity, natural resources and it represents an important corridor for endangered species. Our NGO- Association for Belica Community Development (https://www.facebook.com/belica.mk), founded 2007 has been working mostly on the infrastructure in our village with the help of donations and volunteer work. We build and reconstruct objects and streets, organize cultural events and working actions. We are around 20 permanent residences, even though on weekends a lot more people come here to spend time with family in nature. Our vision is to revive the village and attract people to move in and/or stay here and live in a healthy environment, produce organic food, develop green businesses and protect the natural and cultural heritage.
We are also a Pioneer Community Energy in Macedonia, and use solar energy for the needs of the eco-centre (our community building).

Primary interests: permaculture, green building materials, sustainable development, eco rural communities, eco tourism
