Huehuecoyotl Eco-village is the project of a group of people of various nationalities dedicated to the modeling and research of lifestyles based on ecology, the arts, true democracy and the practice of holistic health methods which address the well being of individuals and communities in a sustainable ecological balance. A true ecovillage of dreamers and doers looking to harmonize with the earth in all its beauty and life forms. Our activities aim to explore the physical, emotional and spiritual health of a group of individuals coming together in a model ecovillage setting. We also provide education, helath and diversity training programs through events, workshops, retreats and products to groups and individuals wishing to explore sustainable lifestyles, healing methods and spiritual practice. Special attention is given to our relationship with the surrounding community of Santo Domingo Ocotitlan, a traditional Nahuatl speaking village of indian campesinos living in extreme poverty and low technology as well as to the municipal head of Tepoztlan, an ancient Nahuatl village at the foothills of the Tepoztecan mountains and the biological corridor Chichinautzin. Huehuecoyotl has been a focusing center for the use of appropiate technology, consensus facilitation, the arts and crafts, permaculture, native studies, networking , ecotourism, and visionary leadership since 1982.
