GEN Ambassador
I am currently working as project manager in an eco-center in Sólheimar eco village, Iceland. The village is Europe’s oldest intentional/eco village. We are about 100 individuals in the village. 45 of us are individuals that has both mental and physical disability. We all have our own role in the village, however we often change roles depending on what is needed in certain time.
My main role is to take care of our eco -center, create project within the village regarding our ecology preservation and eco development. I am also very involved in guest relation management.
Sólheimar receives more than 3000 guest a year and 70% of the guest are students, teachers, researchers from both local and international institutions. Sesseljuhús eco centers role is to make sure that we are providing the needs of our guest. We advocate the village history and ongoing projects hoping that our students will go back to their origin and applies what they learn from the village.
