Building a co-housing haven to live off the land together.

Paul is local, having grown up in nearby Krems an der Donau but I (Lauren) am from London, having escaped to the beautiful Austrian countryside to live the dream/goodlife. Both of us always imagined sharing this wonderful place with others, particularly individuals or families from diverse backgrounds.

**2023 UPDATE!* After an exciting and busy year we're planning what's to come for 2023. We'll be cutting back on some of the farm work in order to focus on finishing the living spaces with the ultimate goal of finding like-minded folk to live here on a more permanent basis. There will be plenty of clay plastering, straw wall building, woodwork etc. to get involved in, so if any of that sounds interesting to you we would be happy to host visitors for as long as they wished over spring, summer and (depending on how much we get done) into autumn. Also, anyone interested in hanging out with our two adorable children (we are in no way biased ;) ) are more than welcome. Help with childcare/cooking is always appreciated! We love an opportunity to show who and what we represent and meet new, like-minded folk. So, if you're free this year, then please get in touch! Ciao 4 now :-) )**

We are a small, bilingual family (getting bigger!) living/renovating/extending the old family farm here in the wood quarter of Lower Austria. The farm as it currently stands consists of The Farmhouse (with option to use as 2 seperate apartments), The Little House, The Circus Wagon plus barns and outbuildings for animals and people :)
We are surrouded by our own land (approx. 4 Hectares) which we use to graze our animals and grow our own grains, fruit and vegetables. Up until now we have rented out our fields to neighbouring farmers but we'll be building our very own dairy in one of the existing barns to produce cheese, yoghurt, butter and icecream (yum!). We would like to focus on keeping sheep and goats for this purpose as well as for wool and ultimately meat although that is not our reason for wanting them. We are aiming to become as self-sufficient as possible and already have our own productive veggie garden, orchard with apple, pear, walnut, cherry etc. Plus we keep both chickens (for eggs) and bees. We also have three cats just to round things off!

We'd love a multi-cultural, multi-lingual community! So we've been working on creating multiple living areas that would work well for co-housing. All of which are in various states of completion (we try to only use natural building materials) and individuals or families would be more than welcome to make a place their own and create their own home here. We'll carry on building until we find the right people but if someone wanted to put their stamp on the place and help mould the aspirations of Moa that would be fantastic. It would be amazing to have some more like-minded, energetic folk around to not only share the workload but also the vision of small scale, organic farming and community living.

Primary interests: Natural building, off grid living, self sufficiency, animal husbandry, pottery, woodworking, metal work, gardening, music, acrobatics, yoga, community living, living with the land
