Wilderness Community

We have 67 acres, mostly forested, in the boreal forest in northwestern Ontario. The soil is solid clay, we have snow 6 months of the year, and have had frost in every month except August so far. Life here is challenging but for those of us who love the wilderness and believe that we need to develop sustainable living practices, we would not be anywhere else.
We are also committed to doing all of this without using oil if at all possible so we own no internal combustion engines of any sort.
Primary interests: natural building, database architecture, sustainable agriculture, non-capitalist economics
