Taiao Ora Farm: Ecovillage South of Ōamaru

Permaculturalist and proud co-founding mother of Taiao Ora Farm Ecovillage near Ōamaru. After 17 years of ecovillage dreaming, we are currently two families that have bought into a small farm together. As a facilitator and kaitiaki at our local Waitaki Community Gardens over the past 9 years, I have been involved with teaching gardening and sustainable living skills at local schools, classes and workshops. Since completing my PDC, permaculture has become a pathway of life and learning.

Taiao Ora Farm is a recently born ecovillage of 2 families on a small 4 acre farm. We are passionate about working collectively to meet our needs and work towards living sustainably and claim sovereignty of our food and housing. Our mission is to create and benefit from affordable housing that is a model of healthy, sustainable, community living in the Waitaki. We are seeking additional couples or individuals with practical skills to join our ecovillage as flatmates or shareholding members.
