Highgrove Farm & Commons

Hello I'm Paz. My background is in wildfire management and environmental studies. In these the last two years I've transitioned to the agricultural landscape, both from pressures of environmental & social concerns, and to pursue interests that could only be found on a farm. I've been at Highgrove Farm & Commons for the last year; I'm here in pursuit of discovering how we may regeneratively feed our communities, while defining this highly relational space we share (earth).

Highgrove is an experiment of regeneration at the person, place, and community level. We use adaptive design and evidence based decision making to effectively speed learning and responsiveness; primarily to address pressing social and environmental concerns that effect us all.

We adhere to mixed-used regenerative practices with an integrated blend of pastures, food forests and gardens growing a variety of healthy food while increasing the vitality of the environment.

We congregate over these goals of regeneration and in attempt to grow, raise and forage a complete diet for 16 people, based from a "fair share footprint" on the 44 acres we call home. We recognize how we work together is equally as important as the work we do, and that self-care is the root of effectively being with one other - this is the basis of our "Happiness Project", and how we choose to live our days.

We've been on this property on Pender Island for 2 years now, and consider ourselves still within our initial growth stages.

We currently have availability for Internship, Fellow Farmers, and space within our Guilds. Reach out to [email protected] to contact us directly and learn more!
