EcoVillage at Ithaca is part of a global movement of people seeking to create positive solutions to the social, environmental and economic crises our planet faces. Since 1991 we have developed an award-winning ecovillage that invites you to live, learn, and grow. Our mission is to meet human needs for shelter, food, energy, livelihood, and social connectedness that are aligned with the long-term health and viability of Earth and all its inhabitants.
EcoVillage at Ithaca has 170 acres and 100 homes and over 200 residents. It consists of 3 neighborhoods, Frog, Song and Tree. It is one of the largest co-housing communities in the world. Our residents live as families, singles and couples ranging in age from infants to octogenarians. They work in diverse roles as farmers, software engineers, nurses, teachers, writers, poets, builders, musicians, legal and financial professionals, college and school teachers, photographers and artists. We have a variety of working farms, office spaces, community gardens, meadows, ponds and woodlands. Over 80% of the 175 acres will remain open green space, including 50 acres in a conservation easement held by the Finger Lakes Land Trust.

I miss having a muʻtigenerationaʻ community where i can be looked after and look after others.
I am a care given and have soent the last 30 years after my mother had a stroke and required extra help and the raising of my daughter with rare genetic disorder. I find myself alone. And i miss being the sour e of the neighborhood to help all the kids fix their scooters and bikes. I miss community.
