The Park Ecovillage, Findhorn, is a vibrant, diverse community nestled in the northeast of Scotland. Home to over 350 people from around the world, it is a place where everyday life is interwoven with spiritual practice, ecological awareness, and social innovation.
What began in 1962 as a small group following inner guidance has evolved into Europe’s oldest ecovillage – a living experiment in how we can live lightly on the Earth, care for one another, and co-create with nature. Our shared journey is guided by three founding principles:
✨ Inner listening
🌱 Co-creation with nature
💛 Work as love in action
Here, sustainability isn’t just about technology – it’s about how we build relationships, honour the Earth, and live with meaning and purpose. From eco-housing and organic gardens to arts, meditation, and community life, the Park Ecovillage offers a tangible example of a holistic, regenerative way of being.
Whether you’re here for a visit or feel called to participate more deeply, we welcome you into a community that is continually evolving – locally rooted and globally connected as the Park, Findhorn Ecovillage is also a founding member of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN). In 1995, it hosted the conference ‘Ecovillages and Sustainable Communities for the 21st Century.’ Following the event, 20 representatives from various ecovillages gathered for five days during which the Global Ecovillage Network was officially established.

We'll be happy to answer your questions and support your exploration.
We also recommend that you explore and do your own research about Findhorn, and take some time with our Self-Study Guide, which offers valuable insight into our values, practices, and way of life.
From there, you can find a place to stay here for a period of time and explore whether living in the ecovillage feels right for you.
And as a next step, you can become a member of both the New Findhorn Association (NFA) and the Ecovillage Findhorn Community Benefit Society.
