Uba Qynza is learning community in constant co-creation of a living space, cared for and prepared for the respectful development, coexistence, and exploration of girls and boys in a multi-age group between the ages of 5 and 12 years of age. Mothers, fathers and teachers actively participate in the operation of the project and are committed to their ability to grow and evolve in the service of life.
Our name is in the Mhuysqa language, the ancient language of this territory; in English it means Hummingbird Seed. Our purpose is making alive a pedagogy based on Care; care for the seed, care for life, children and the territory we inhabit. This education seeks to accompany children so that they find the deep knowledge of life that lives in them and help them raise their flight listening to the voice of their own heart and inner guidance.
We were born within Aldeafeliz Ecovillage and thanks to this support we watch over the learning processes of everyone involved, in an environment nurtured by the right conditions for curiosity, play, learning and the love for life. Today we are an independent community that drives inspiration and concrete tools and practices from the ecovillage principles and network.

Hello, my family and I will be taking a gap year starting in Sept. of 2025 and are looking for communities that provide an education in nature and provide opportunities to learn Spanish.
My daughter will be 7 years old and my wife and I are both international school teachers. My wife teaches English as an Additional Language (EAL,ESL) and I teach humanities with a focus on sustainability and social justice. We would love to teach in such a beautiful environment.
Uba Qynza seems exactly what we are looking for, however, our Spanish is limited. Would this be an issue? Is it only for fluent Spanish speakers?
I am interested in learning more about the community and opportunities for my family and I to visit or become members.
