Although Zambia is endowed with vast natural resources such as abundant water bodies, a variety of minerals, fertile soils and fair weather conditions; a number of people, particularly those in rural areas, continue to go on empty stomachs day in, day out. Worse still, life debilitating diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria seem to continue thriving on their poverty situation. This prompted us to rise up and awaken the local people to the reality that there is actually so much wealth around them and all they needed to do is to lock their hands in unity and use their God given natural resources to improve their social and economic wellbeing in a more sustainable way. Ideally our aim is to bring individuals from from different backgrounds who may possess different skills and talents to motivate local people to not only unlock their potential, but that of the environment in which they live to adequately address poverty as opposed to always waiting for aid to trickle in from outside. As we strive to achieve this goal, our members and volunteers shall enjoy life at our ecovillage in harmony with themselves, those around them and indeed mother nature as they endeavor to grow and eat healthy food, using renewable energy resources, recycling, gifting, sharing and reaching out to their neighbours.
